“Great course! I might not have been the original audience for this class, but I got so much out of it. I appreciated having a discussion partner to both reflect on what we'd read and to share experiences. I also really appreciated Dr McLaughlin's way of teasing out discussions in class - not just looking for the easy answers, but prompting reflections and making connections. The mix of videos, music, readings, and discussions provided multiple avenues for working with the challenging information. I was still a little confused by the structure of Canvas as a student, but I figured it out. Maybe the only thing I might add to the course was either suggestions and/or discussions about how to approach teaching this material to students of different ages. Maybe Dr McLaughlin's approach (presenting info with a mix of materials + discussion prompts) might be a good model for that.”
